Will Lip Fillers cause Swelling?June 7, 2019
In line with the growing trend of cosmetic treatment over the last few years, lip fillers have seen a massive increase. But whether it’s your first treatment or you’ve been having fillers for a while, it’s an exciting process.
Many people, understandably, have a lot of questions before they have their first treatment, and this is no different with lip fillers. That is why we are here to answer all those questions (so don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions on our of our treatments, just call 01302 238 110).
One of the questions we get asked a lot before patients have lip fillers, is will they cause swelling?
As with any treatment, there is bound to be some swelling. After lip filler treatment it’s quite possible that your lips will be swollen for 24-48 hours. This is quite normal and your practitioner may ask you to apply some ice, just to take down any initial swelling and bruising. Other things you can do include:
Staying hydrated, by making sure you drink plenty of water,
Keeping your head elevated to allow gravity to reduce the swelling.
But things tend to settle down quite quickly after treatment and don’t really get in the way of your normal activities.
If you’re interested in having lip filler treatment, please get in touch with us here and we’ll make an appointment for you with one of our nurse practitioners.
